Hi, I am Madison Vivian.

A fine art and documentary photographer based in Grey County, Ontario, Canada. I've been drawn to capturing animals' quiet moments since childhood, when I spent countless hours observing our farm's daily rhythms with borrowed cameras in hand. I now fondly reflect on the videos and photos from that time, remembering the days of uneven fence posts turned tripods, and the giddiness of capturing a special moment between my horse and I. Those early days of documenting my own animals taught me the art of patience – waiting for the perfect moment when a horse would gallop across the field in the dying winter light, or my dog would curl up for an afternoon nap under the lilac tree.

Even now, over 15 years later, I still spend the majority of my time with animals, sharing my love and passion for them with my husband and our little girl. I love to spend time with our geese, ducks, and chickens, go for trail rides with my horses, or play at liberty with them in the pasture. I enjoy daily walks through the forests on our farm with our many dogs (and sometimes the cats even join in!). I am often lost in a book, studying permaculture and medicinal herbs, or gardening in the warmer months. On occasion I am known for attempting to bake excessively elaborate pastries with a solid 60% success rate. My husband and I are very involved in dog rescue, rehabbing and fostering dogs for rescues and shelters, as well as operating a dog daycare and training facility on our farm.

The art of animal photography is ever-evolving, and so is my approach. Through carefully selected mentorships, industry seminars, and professional courses, I continuously expand my expertise to bring innovative techniques and fresh perspectives to each session.

My documentary approach celebrates the authentic stories of daily life, I aim to provide my clients the feeling of joy and nostalgia reflecting on their photos, the same way I feel looking at my own. While I create carefully composed portraits, my passion lies in capturing unscripted moments. Those early years of studying my animal friends shaped my understanding that the most powerful images emerge when animals are free to express their true nature.
